Earth Day Student Contest

Contest Details

The Grand River Agricultural Society is hosting a virtual Earth Day Contest that is open to Elementary students at three different levels; Primary (Grade 1-3), Junior (Grade 4-6), Intermediate (Grade 7-8).


  1. Create an art project made out of recycled materials. (submit photo/video of student with their project)
  2. Make a poster celebrating Earth Day. (submit photo/video of student with their project)
  3. Write a story about how your community can do their part to “Restore Our Earth”. A community can mean your school community or the community that you live in. Maximum of 2 pages (submit typed/written story)
  4. Class Entry (Open to all Elementary school grades): Create a mural celebrating Earth Day. (submit photo/video of mural, include class in the video/picture)

Topic Suggestions:

  • Waste free lunches
  • Prevent pollution
  • Alternative energy (such as wind, solar or a new invention)
  • Clean water
  • Clean air
  • Reuse, reduce, recycle
  • Compost food waste

  • Two winning classes will receive $100 + class prizes
