Contest Details

THE CONTEST IS CURRENTLY CLOSED UNTIL 2023!

 

The Grand River Agricultural Society is hosting a virtual Earth Day Contest that is open to Elementary students at three different levels; Primary (Grade 1-3), Junior (Grade 4-6), Intermediate (Grade 7-8).

Categories:

  1. Create an art project made out of recycled materials. (Submit photo/video of student with their project.)
  2. Make a poster celebrating Earth Day. (Submit photo/video of student with their project.)
  3. Write a story about how your community can do their part to “Restore Our Earth”. A community can mean your school community or the community that you live in. Maximum of 2 pages. (Submit typed/written story.)
  4. Class Entry (Open to all Elementary school grades): Create a mural celebrating Earth Day. (Submit photo/video of mural, include class in the video/picture.)

Topic Suggestions:

  • Waste-free lunches
  • Prevent pollution
  • Alternative energy (such as wind, solar or a new invention!)
  • Clean water
  • Clean air
  • Reuse, reduce, recycle
  • Compost food waste

2022 Contest Details:

Category 1-3

  • 1st Place: $25 + prizes
  • 2nd Place: $20 + prizes
  • 3rd Place: $15 + prizes

Category 4

  • Two winning classes will receive $100 + class prizes
