GRAS Philanthropic Funding-December 2020

Despite the challenging year we just had, the Grand River Agricultural Society was excited to still be able to provide philanthropic funding to many local programs in 2020.
In previous year, we would have had the opportunity for an in-person presentation and photo with the recipients, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to do so.
However, we still wanted to showcase some of the local programs that we were able to provide funding to, so with that, here is a list of our philanthropic funding in December 2020:

Guelph Humane Society: $10,000 in support of the Farm Animal Room/program

Ontario Farmland Trust: $7,500 to support the Stewardship Fund 2021 – Wellington County properties

AgScape: $15,000 to support the virtual ag education programs

4-H Ontario: $15,000 for updating the Veterinary Project Resources

Elora Rocks Lawn Bowling Club: $2,200 for dead tree removal

CW Skatepark Association: $1,500 for purchase/installation of trees

Erin Agricultural Society: $10,000 for updating of electrical infrastructure at Fairgrounds

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph: $5,000 to support the Environ-Mentoring program

Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph: $1,000 to support volunteer appreciation @ Fergus ReStore

We are honored to be able to support these local programs and we look forward to continuing working with them in years to come.
