GRAND RIVER AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY LAUNCHES HELPING HUNGRY HEROES CAMPAIGN

Centre Wellington, ON – Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) is proud to announce that they are committing $25,000 to launch their Helping Hungry Heroes campaign. The intent is to help provide meals to health care and front line workers in Centre Wellington, while also supporting local businesses.

“In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we wanted to quickly find a way to support local businesses and give back to those who are working on the front lines to keep us all safe,” comments Paul Walker, President of the Grand River Agricultural Society.

The program, launching this week, will purchase gift cards for local restaurants and businesses that are providing take out options in Elora, Fergus, and Belwood, and distribute them to front line workers through Groves Hospital, EMT, and Wellington Terrace.

This campaign provides another way to channel community spirit and support those working tirelessly on the front lines. GRAS invites any groups or individuals who would like to add to the campaign to reach out to kgiddy@grandriverraceway.com.

From 2004 through March 2020, the Grand River Agricultural Society has provided funding and Gift-In-Kind support for local initiatives totaling more than $2 million. The Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) provides non-profit community groups and initiatives within its membership area with donations of cash as well as in-kind support through the GRAS Philanthropic Planning Committee.
