Providing Indigenous Students Post Secondary Scholarships

Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) is excited to announce we have entered into a multi-year agreement with Indspire to expand our Scholarship Program.

GRAS will be proudly providing four $3,000 scholarships to Indigenous students who are heading into post-secondary agriculture or environmental programs. The scholarships will be awarded to students beginning in the 2022/2023 school year.

Indspire is a nationwide charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people for the long-term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada.

“Partnering with Indspire has allowed us to expand our education initiatives and encourage more students to choose career paths in the ever-evolving agriculture or environmental sectors,” says Deborah Whale, Chair of the Philanthropic and Impact Investment Committee at GRAS. “This is an important step for GRAS to continue towards its mission of supporting education, allowing the future of agriculture and the environment to thrive!”

The team at GRAS looks forward to building a long-term, meaningful relationship with Indspire, learning how we can continue to help young Indigenous people access education and employment in the agriculture and environmental fields.

GRAS wishes all the students who receive scholarships the greatest success!
